It's a beautiful day in the hood yo...a beatiful day in the hood...

This is a dark time for epileptics... Or should I say, a bright time. Far too bright.
Getting raped would have been less disturbing...
Nick Jr.'s carrying around his sweet boom box takes me back to a time when all the crazy kids were break-dancing on the sidewalks with cardboard.
It also reminds me of the old-school 1989 classic Spike Lee joynt (movie) "Do the Right Thing" character, Radio Raheem.
For some reason whenever I watch(ed) that movie I get these cravings to have a slice of pizza (when you see it you'll understand).
It also featured several now-well-known actors including John Turturro, Rosie Perrez, Danny Aiello and Ossie Davis. Also included were, of course, Mr. Spike Lee himself and one of the earlier vintage performances by none other than Samuel L. Jackson as the radio DJ Mister Senor Love Daddy.
The soundtrack is also a classic with such now-familiar church hymns as Public Enemy's "Fight the Power".
The youngsters can check the trailer here:
