There are so many things wrong with this I don't know where to start...yes I do, child abuse is when you "discipline your child unfairly...". No, that's not what it is, a child doesn't understand fair, they think everything is unfair. Child abuse is terrible, this woman is one of the reasons it took so long to come to the public fore. Then from there I go to "You should spank your child..." because the bible says to. No, that's not what it says. Spanking works, and it certainly is an option, I spanked my kids when they were too little to understand anything else, but I didn't do it because I felt I should. I felt it was the quickest way to keep their tongue out of a light socket because they didn't understand the word "electricity" as soon as they were old enough to understand more I stopped and never did it again. According to this broad I am sinning because I should spank my kids.

That's all before we even get the rope jumping "Orientals"!

First mistake is equalising 'spanking' with 'beating'- I agree with TopMonkey on this one.. When children are too young their discipline is obtained as a Pavlovian reflex: they connect slap on the wrist with 'no touching' (for example) and soon only words are enough..
As far as the 'jumping orientals' go : I bet some of them are fantasizing about the good old days of hanging from the tree as they slave in a sweat shop for some good christian soul.

The lady is just a little confused, I think that maybe those jump-ropers are drugging her...that's the only explanation for her weird intro.

Childrens oppinions of fair and unfair are hidden rather than not there atall, for example a child might think "if i act like this isnt fair, maybe i'll get my way, even though i know its fair." this thought comes from not realising the effort from the parents to create a comfortable enviroment, rather than the lack of understanding of the concept of fair and unfair. I know this for a fact because i myself am a child (well, teenager)

jotalitarian, teenagers are generally at a higher level of development than what we here term "children". Moral ideals, such as fairness, are developed by your age and generally somewhat before.
