this is cute in an odd way

It's very cute. Though I think that guy is wearing a 'Tegu Vixen' perfume- I don't see any other explanation for them ignoring food just so they can climb onto him .. ;)

Cute, yes. But I wonder if it might be because he's the tallest climbable object in the cage. Would be interesting to see him do a few cuts of different videos with slightly different surroundings. Like having something taller and climbable next to him.

But then again, if they were cute and furry, I don't think we'd be questioning the human affection thing.

I really like lizards, snakes, turtles, spiders, insects (and before someone decides to react: no, spiders are NOT insects :P), and I'd often pick 'weird looking &crawling' over 'cute & furry' ..
But they will never be able to connect with people in a way mammals can.
And when I say 'connection' I don't mean it in a 'take this creature off my arm' way.. ;)

I like your 'tallest climbable object' theory a lot (really, I do..very smart thinking)- but their basic instincts are to defend themselves, eat and procreate.. And choosing climbing over feeding is very weird.

don't you see whats happening the lizards are climbing so they can get to his esophagus so really they are feeding they're just getting supper first

I don't know what to make of it. Tegus are mostly ground lizards, they don't climb so much. Maybe the ground is cold or something.

i bet the tegus are protesting. they're thinking "i don't want to be stuck in this pen for the rest of my life! i want to roam free!!" and so they all rebelled and attacked the human responsible. but since they're so much smaller than us, and we can't tell their emotions, it just looks like affection.

I personally think that was cool as hell!!!

Im not quite sure what a tegu is (aside from the the obvious "lizard") but i WANT ONE!!!

its obvious that they just love the guy that feeds and cares for then and they wanted to give him hugs :-)

I once had a Savanah Monitor, thinkin how cool it would be to have a lizard to chill on my shoulder... he was the devil- true story- he hated EVERY ONE AND EVERYTHING RIP lil buddy
