During his presidency, Bill Clinton presided over the most devestating regime of economic sanctions in history that the UN estimated took the lives of as many as a million Iraqis, the vast majority of them children. In May of 1996, 60 Minutes aired an interview with Madeline Albright, who at the time was Clinton"s UN Ambassador. Correspondent Leslie Stahl said to Albright, “We have heard that a half million children have died. I mean, that”s more children than died in Hiroshima. And—and you know, is the price worth it?"

Madeline Albright replied “I think this is a very hard choice, but the price—we think the price is worth it."

It's always easy to justify things...especially when "We" think its right.

And I agree with Absinthe. Why the hell does he care so much about dogfighting? Especially when we don't treat other animals any better.

If dogs tasted better, and people didn't find them cute, we wouldn't have any problem with breeding and slaughtering them under squalid, cramped conditions.

I'm not saying I care all that much about the way we treat our livestock, myself, I'm just saying that his anger is misplaced and shallow...

felis20, excellent point. Factory farming is BARBARIC. Personally, I do care and buy free range meats when ever possible. But the industry itself needs to change. If for no other reason than because factory farming leads to the creation of deadly strains of flu virus. Think petri dish. BARBARIC! And yeah, dog fighting bad.

It reminds me so much of the gym teacher from The Simpsons- BOMBARDMENT!
