Click on food to add it to the counter. Food cooked to perfection will glow. Click on (or drag to) a customer to serve. You can put burnt food into the bin for a penalty. Click on a garnish and then drag to (or click on) the food to add it. For drinks, click on the desired soft drink and then on the customer you want to give it to. You can click on more than one customer per soft drink.
