For general use I can't see these taking off. However, for use in targeted applications, like offices, universities, etc. I can. Sort of like a compact Segway.
GREAT!! I won't have to use my legs anymore!
What if you strap a person with no legs to it? Cyborg people!
I personnally think it's a real boost to mobility. It's seems easy to use and rather simple to handle. I would think this is a GREAT thing for offices and such.
Those women look like they're 90 lbs each. I want to see that thing balance a fatty!
... so.. i can pit a box on it, and it'll try to lean it, but it's just keep going forward...?
It seems like an advanced segway, since those change their speed based on the forward tilt. By the way, did anyone else think the position looked uncomfortable, it looked like it would stress the thigh, something mor like this chair design would work better http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/comfortstore_2106_26395216.
HONDA presents the brand new woman transporter!
An easier way to transport womans through empty office buildings.
p.s.
I wonder what the battery life is like...
I just wonder how they can make it work properly on hills. The one in this vid is just a slight hill, but a steeper one would cause trouble (because of the power required to balance on hills is different than on level surfaces).
These should have a good indicator that the battery is running dry though...
*rides around for hours*
....battery runs dry without warning
*falls off chair*
FFFFFFF
top i thought the same thing; working in a lab where you have to get up and sit down at like 4 different stations or roll yourself in a stool like we did, this thing would have been fantastic!
