House Of Fear: Revenge
categories: Games

What I learned at an early age from my sister, is that every house can be a house of fear if you try hard enough. It all comes down to spiders. Spiders, and their insatiable desire to crawl into your mouth while you are sleeping.

well, yes, obviously, huntsman spiders are the stuff of nightmares. this was a black widow though, which i see ALL the time as tiny less than half a cm diameter spiders that really don't bother anyone. I've literally never seen one as large as this one was. and then i killed it. seems like that far side comic with the guy standing on the tree stump after cutting it down telling his kid "this ring is where it survived another forest fire"

so, we have a drawer in the kitchen where the oven mitt lives. it is black, this is important later. a few weeks ago, my wife noticed that the drawer needed cleaning because there were lots of cobwebs in it. so i removed the drawer, cleaned it in the sink and re-installed it. Pretty boring right? Fast forward a few days, I'm making chicken nuggets and fries and need the oven mitt. I reach into the drawer and just as I'm about to touch the mitt, I notice a MASSIVE BLACK WIDOW SPIDER about a cm from my finger. I was so scared I actually almost threw up. It was the scariest thing. My neighbors now all think I'm an insane person because rather than take care of the spider I spent the next 10 minutes walking around and screaming f'bombs while shaking violently. When I say massive, I mean in the realm of 2 inches in diameter leg to leg. she was huge. I put her in a ziplock bag and then smashed it. I felt guilty afterwards, and now I shudder every time I put on the oven mitt.

THAT'S MY STORY!
