Unity?
categories: Misc

It’s been getting harder and harder to find good Flash games for the daily posts, and rather than settling for crappy ones I was wondering if anyone would be interested in Unity games? It would require you to install the Unity Web Player. Let me know what you think in the comments.

In my limited experience i found that unity games look good, but the gameplay is sometimes spectacularly bugged or clunky.

I know Unity won't work for everyone, so don't worry I won't be posting a lot of them. But on days when I can't find a good Flash game I'll at least have the option of putting up a (hopefully) great html5 or Unity game.

I'd be perfectly fine with Unity games. Gives us a broader range of games to play.

I've used it before for dead frontier (this was several years back). It worked wonderfully with IE but didn't play nice with chrome or firefox. Either way, I wouldn't mind it.

I'd be down with it. I already have it installed for a Beta game I'm testing, so sure why not give it more use?

Bastian, I'm pretty sure Admin didn't mean it as 'I'll post only unity games'.
It would be a variety between unity, flash and html5.

I'd be a pretty sad panda, considering the lack of *nix support.

It'd be much cooler to see more focus on HTML5 games.

I'd say go for it admin. As alongftw also mentions, quality over quantity, and if you feel you can get us more high-quality games for DYOG, I'd be very happy! :)

Go ahead, I already got Unity installed because you need it for a bunch of other stuff so if I'll help us get more and better games I'm all for it.

I'm only comfortable with it if you are, Admin. I don't want to try anything new if you're not ready. (Seriously though, I'm cool with it)

Unity games are somewhat common on the Kongregate gaming website. These games use the Unity 3d Plugin, which allows for extremely integrated three dimensional environment and play, usually involving graphics intensive software. Most games with the Unity plugin range from Runescape-like graphics to full on MMO-style graphics. Tend to be first person dungeon crawlers, rpgs, explorative games or turn based strategy. Not bad as a game type overall, but they're a tad clunky.

Unity's pretty cool. I remember playing an Qauke-like FPS that used Unity several years ago. Unity also runs on iOS and Android, so it's not terribly resource-intensive.

I'm not really sure what Unity games are, but I've been coming here daily for years so I'd be willing to try anything.

Never heard of it. But I'm all for quality over quantity. I won't complain if you want to start sharing Unity games, or maybe go to every other day with the games.
