If this wasn’t a National Geographic video, I would assume this was some sort of internet prank. But no, the giant salamander is real, and it will kill you in your dreams.

anyway, she doesn't have to google that stuff, shes an uber creepy crawlies nerd. we keep her around to identify gross bugs that are in our apts.

If I had a giant salamander I would name him Yamato and scare mailman with it.

Educational footnote: newts *are* salamanders, not their 'close relatives' as they say in the video- since 'salamander' is a common word for all amphibians of Caudata (tailed amphibians) order.
