What a weird ending. The reference to the myth is nice, at first I didn't understand the title of the game until I got to the end of the cave.
Nice game i like it.
fun fun fun fun fun game :D
This game isn't really all that challenging but it has a sort of calming affect on me as opposed to some of the other games on this site where you get really hyper trying to get a good score. In that sense this game is superior to a lot of others, because it isn't concerned with challenging the player but rather trying to tell a story.
No !! i finish the game ._. how disappointing .__.
Interesting....
Whats so messed up about this game?
oh... my... god
this is definitely one of the best games I've layed in a long time. I fairly certain I gasped uot loud when i accidentally looked back the first time.
The gameplay's a little challenging at first, until you get the hang of it.
I loved how no two rooms were the same, which can't be said for most of today's mainstream games.
creepy atmosphere, great presentation, reference to the Eurydice and Orpheus myth, puzzling ending.
There is nothing to hate about this game.
Somewhere between Zelda II, Batman (nes) and the Total Recall video game. I was totally anticipating a green pantsuit wearing midgit to jump out of a trashcan at me.
The ending is...creepy.
This game is messed up.
the whole time I was playing this game i was thinking of that oasis song-don't look back in anger
Well nope it doesnt work so dont try. I finished the game with my dude with his gun out though...
Has anybody tried killing the double at the end??? i just thought of it when i finished it.
It is a very nice game!
Pretty good (and Twisted) story for a game with no dialog.
What ?!
I forgot something. If the game isn't working, try this:
-First, make sure you're using the latest version of your browser and keep it up-to-date.
-Close the browser
-Uninstall Shockwave and Flash (If you don't know how, use Google to find the directions for your operating system.)
-If you're using Internet Explorer: go to Adobe.com; download and install the latest Shockwave and Flash players; close and re-open Internet Explorer.
-If you're using Firefox: go to Adobe.com; download the latest Shockwave and Flash players to your desktop; close Firefox; install the players (which takes about a second); re-open Firefox.
Hope that helps.
I'm using: Windows XP; Firefox 3.0.7 and the latest Shockwave (version 11) and Flash (version 10) players from Adobe.com. The game played fine for me. Hope that info helps.
As far as the myth goes... maybe Orpheus should have closed his eyes, held out his hand to Eurydice and let her lead the way out of Hades. Maybe that would of worked. *shrugges*
Weird it started working perfectly until I got past the four spiders. Now its frozen again.
More specifically when I move the rain stops pouring unless I'm moving again and when I jump it freezes and when I move to the next screen it freezes.
well i beat it without looking back and nothing new on the ending. i can't beat it without dying.
Andylink, you seem to be having a lot of Flash troubles lately. I'd highly recommend updating your Flash Player again, even if you think it's already up to date.
This game won't work =P and I have the latest flash player. I've been trying for a while too.
I have a theory... In the greek myth with Eurydice and Orpheus, Orpheus was not allowed to look back. He did so and Eurydice's shadow dissolved, much like in here, and Orpheus was not allowed to go back (the guy is not allowed to go back to retrieve his (dead wife) once again. So my theory is that if you don't mess up at all, there might a secret ending.
Yes thank you nika you are right. I had the name wrong... again. I stopped after the part where he turns around because thats where this game stops, basically.
I still think its a cool game even though its not hard just a weird interesting ending. I wonder what does happen. Does the guy have infinite souls or something? Because if hes dead now, the man he saw at the grave is himself, but hes his soul, oh whatever...
Must be same creater as Mavrick...DAMN ENDING!!!!!
This game is really easy, liked the suprise ending and the reference to the greek myth.
Oh really??
hmmm weird ending...its a never ending cycle if you were to start a new game..go to cave and back, cave and back...
not really all that hard... good story none the less
game isnt that gret is very confusing and boring.
what? am i missing something? i couldn't even get past the part in the freaking cave.
i actually enjoyed that, nice little story, but on the gameplay alone it wasnt great.
amusing nontheless
Wait? did I win?
i don't know anymore admin..i really don't know anymore
That was fun, but the end was a little creepy.
i think it could have been harder... too easy imo
A silly 8-bit game.
For the ones that have read the story, and excellent game. Almost made me cry!
I beat it. After a lot of trial and error :P
It's hard NOT to look back, but not for the reason she thinks... ¬_¬
They were both ghosts? wut
Actually the myth is about Orpheus and Eurydice- when he looked back to see if she's following him from the Hades, he broke his promise and she never got out from the underworld.
Poor guy lost all the interest in women after that, but they were still chasing him (cause he was a gorgeous amazing musician and a poet), and finally a bunch of them attacked him and tore him to pieces with their bare hands.
Us beautiful people are cursed like that. :P
Nice game, finished pretty quickly.
Based on the story of Thesee who goes to hell to get his love back, makes a deal with hades that if he can bring her all the way out of hell (crossing the Styx and all the other challenges) without looking at her, he'll let her have a 2nd life. In the end he does turn around.
