Okay, I realize yesterday’s game might have been a little too academic for some, so today we’re just going to blow holes in stuff. Blow holes in your knowledge of architecture and geography that is! Huzzah!

Last! I'd try improving, but I don't want to inflate my score and give you swell folks the impression that I know where the Egyptian Pyramids are.

It's actually pretty easy to click a specific place in Europe when you live there.. I could be at the Gerkin, the Welsh assembly, or the Scottich parliament today if I wanted to.. I've grown up with maps like that, and I've been to every country you have to click (except the Asian and South Amercian ones)..
Nika and Morhkt, on the other hand, must just be brilliant..

November 14th, 2008 at 12:51 am nika says:

...cause places in Europe tend to move around at their own will..?

Yeah, I noticed that most of the places were in and around Europe as well; good thing, because I'm terrible when it comes to geography any further east in Eurasia.

But yeah, if you have enough patience and/or luck a lot of the places repeat themselves quite often.

Here's a trick that will boost your high score - always choose England. I only took it once and scored 75k. Well over half the sites were in the UK. Perhaps I am an uncultured Yankee, but i had never heard of most of these places.

The Gerkin - What a cool name for something.

November 13th, 2008 at 10:34 am Teflon Monkey says:

It's a fair point nika- there are some I'd never heard of before that I'm getting pretty much dead on, it's more a memory test than anything else.. maybe that deserves high scores though?

    7.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:54 am morhkt says:

True that it's repetitive, but my first try was 89k and after 6 times playing it I still haven't beaten that.

    6.
November 13th, 2008 at 9:48 am nika says:

I'm sorry I have to say this, but after playing it few times I'm not sure this should be a high score game at all: it's repetitive and only thing you need is either a good memory or a lot of free time.

It's very educational though: for example, I had no idea there's a Dancing House in Prague- I'll make sure I check it out in the near future. ;)

Sorry TM#2 (#2 is not for the second place here, but cause there's a senior TM in these parts ;) ).
If it comforts you I'm sure my score won't stay up long either- some things I knew and some things were pure logic: place called 'The Gerkin' can't be anywhere else but in UK. :P

I- I got gold.. I'm sooo happy.. I'm sure it'll get stolen soon but I'ma enjoy it while it lasts (hooray for living in England)
    My closest 3 were:
    Houses of Parliament: 27
    Gazprom HQ: 23
    The Gerkin: 0 (ZERO)

November 13th, 2008 at 6:55 am Pirotechnix says:

It's not so much that my geography skills would really be the problem here...It's more the fact that I had absolutely no idea that 85% of these buildings even existed.

I'll be sure to put on the dunce cap and walk around with one sock down and one sock up today in penance.
