My point was that adult circumcision also advocated in the New testament. That's why I brought the subject up. In most Christian sects, the bible isn't taken as the word-for-word truth. I'm Catholic - we accept evolution and the big bang theory because they probably happened. But that doesn't mean that God didn't create the Universe. In the same way, we don't think that homosexuals are inherently against God. If you're born that way, how can you be evil? It's not your fault. You can't discriminate against gays for the same reasons you can't discriminate against people of different skin colors: they're not evil, or lesser, they're just different. You can't change it, and nobody can help it. It's just birth. There's nothing wrong with the way we're born: that's inherent human dignity, which Jesus tried to teach us to respect. People born with disabilities must be as respected as people born with gifts. People born homosexual must be respected just as people born straight. There.

BETPiece2010, I don't think anybody was (or should be) arguing that the Bible DOESN'T speak out against homosexuality. The point the video was trying to make was that the Bible speaks out against a lot of other things and advocates things that wouldn't make any sense in today's society. You can't just pick and choose what and what not to follow based on your own whims.

BETPiece, the authors of the New Testament also mention adult circumcision. That's not practiced or accepted, is it?

A New- New Testament needs to be made. Christianity needs to be reformed to become more tolerant.

Not to start a whole debate, but general rule of thumb with the Bible.

Old Testament was written to Israel, God's people.

Jesus came and made it possible for ANYONE to be saved, not just Israel.

In doing so, Jesus pretty much rewrote the laws.

If something from the Old Testament is restated in the New Testament, then it is something that still applies.

Both the Old and New Testament speak out against homosexuality.
