I generally make it a point not to argue with giant stone heads that vomit guns out of their mouths, but I think Zardoz may be a little off the mark here.

    That was a very silly movie. A Scotsman in a red diaper runs around with guns, makes his way to the lair of the man-gods and basically blows everything up. People screw a bit, die a bit. Fade to black, roll credits.

    I'm not familiar with Zardz, but Logan's Run is onna my all time favs :-)
    The Island, I felt, was SORTA along those premise, but not...still an awesome movie :-)

    Soilent Green is ALWAYS good, as well as Fahrenheit 451 :-)

    I'd agree with TopMonkey in saying that the worse the apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic movie is, the more enjoyable it is. Case in point, Charlton Heston turned the movie "Planet of the Apes" from what would have been nothing more than a half decent adaptation of the brilliant novel, into the stuff of high comedy.

    People are still making fun of that one.

    By the way, I want to watch it because I love post-apocalyptic movies, even ones people think are bad (ie Battlefield Earth, Waterworld). One of the best is Omega Man, a remake, which is soon to be remade again with Will Smith.

    I had to find out more about this. It's from a 1974 movie that starred Sean Connery of all people. Strikes me as odd I've never heard of it. Despite the strange clip you have posted, or perhaps because of it, I'm going to go find this movie and watch it.
