first there were these abused kids... then they hid gold from pirates on the boat to america... they end up in texas... woman has vision of them coming to her... she goes and finds them... jump ropes to christian music.... WHHAAAT?
man, if i had come all the way to america on a boat, jumping rope to REALLY bad christian music would be the last thing that I'd do...
if you look those good look sad i thin the cristians lady beat them with a bible to get them to jump rope and im a roman catholic and i beat kids that i dont even own plus i thnk catholic s and christioans are annoying by messing with tries cause they worship a rock. wow that was a serious comment i made usaully its a dumb one i thin im sick today
I have found in my personal experience the Catholics and Christians I know have more than just slightly different opinions, try telling them they are the same
Okay...Catholics are actually Christians, so saying Uber both is a bit redundant...just Uber Christians would be enough, silly.
Also, there's a fine line between pointing out how she's wrong and mocking her and her beliefs. I don't think that's really benificial.

a few weeks ago i was "rescued" from the worst place imaginable, texas, and now spend my days jumping rope. for you.
you might find this comes as a suprise, jesus, but jumping rope takes a lot of wrist movement, and after hanging from my wrists and being beaten, i think i'm developing carpal tunnel...please jesus, tell the lady that 14 hour days of jumping rope is worse than any beating i ever got in the "orient"
Yea, uber christians and uber catholics really annoy me, they think anything thats fun but doesn't involve jesus is a sin, and I really dislike the ones that try to convert you.

I feel sorry for this lady's kids if she had any. She's obviously one of those uber Christians that thinks everything is a sin. God people like that are so incredibly dumb and misguided that you have to wonder if God thought it would be funny to put them here just to torment the rest of us.
jotalitarian, teenagers are generally at a higher level of development than what we here term "children". Moral ideals, such as fairness, are developed by your age and generally somewhat before.
Childrens oppinions of fair and unfair are hidden rather than not there atall, for example a child might think "if i act like this isnt fair, maybe i'll get my way, even though i know its fair." this thought comes from not realising the effort from the parents to create a comfortable enviroment, rather than the lack of understanding of the concept of fair and unfair. I know this for a fact because i myself am a child (well, teenager)

The lady is just a little confused, I think that maybe those jump-ropers are drugging her...that's the only explanation for her weird intro.
First mistake is equalising 'spanking' with 'beating'- I agree with TopMonkey on this one.. When children are too young their discipline is obtained as a Pavlovian reflex: they connect slap on the wrist with 'no touching' (for example) and soon only words are enough..
As far as the 'jumping orientals' go : I bet some of them are fantasizing about the good old days of hanging from the tree as they slave in a sweat shop for some good christian soul.
There are so many things wrong with this I don't know where to start...yes I do, child abuse is when you "discipline your child unfairly...". No, that's not what it is, a child doesn't understand fair, they think everything is unfair. Child abuse is terrible, this woman is one of the reasons it took so long to come to the public fore. Then from there I go to "You should spank your child..." because the bible says to. No, that's not what it says. Spanking works, and it certainly is an option, I spanked my kids when they were too little to understand anything else, but I didn't do it because I felt I should. I felt it was the quickest way to keep their tongue out of a light socket because they didn't understand the word "electricity" as soon as they were old enough to understand more I stopped and never did it again. According to this broad I am sinning because I should spank my kids.
That's all before we even get the rope jumping "Orientals"!
This leaves me longing for Mister Rogers break dancing!
