hmm...im scared with this one :P wow, that was actually creepy
i saw this in science class.
everyone look out! the admin is watchin the discovery channel again!
ive only seen this fungus on a june beatle once though where i live its most commonly seen on cicadas... a very creepy fungus
thats a brutal way to die... SPORES OUT OF YOUR BRAIN
though i love it how that worker ant is draggin away like 5 and dumping them ants are so cool!
Unless you were watching it on Discovery channel in the US then it was sigourney weaver. Actually I purchased the set of DVD's and was so excited that it wasn't her on them. I didn't like her narration and like David Attenborough so much better. He's a classic and his voice is so much easier to listen to.
i'm scared...
and in relation to penwords's comment that was David Attenbrough narrating on the documentary series planet earth.
0.0 *writes something down on his huge list of reasons 'why i don't want to be an ant'*
i think i am the frst one here to say:
WOOOOAAAAAAAAHHH
Your mom was wise. Now let me see your microscope.
Mom always told me: "be careful with those young men that are after you, they just want you for your microscope.." :P
ew I saw that on t.v... in high definition..
I agree with Shak..
I don't want that thing growing out of my head...
I watched this at school but is was on this movie thing called planet earth
Okay, Nika has a microscope and knows how to use it...I'm so intrigued.
all im going to sayy is 1:46 seconds left.
creepy.... i hope nika's right about only bugs...
It was like i was at school wacthing this!
dig your own grave the learning website.
very interesting, do you have any more?
clips about nature-stuff that is...
i wouldn't want that
yes very good nika
i wish i knew that much.....ok not really
Very good nika...I wish I knew that much about parasites.
Oh, you better believe it- I've seen a termite colony infested by Cordyceps, and to be honest it didn't look scary until I examined it under magnifying glass..
They infest only insects and other arthropods but as creepy as they look they are used in production of immunosuppressants used as after transplant therapy in humans..
*insert nerd icon here* :P
This is why I took classes in Biology and Botany...you can't get any stranger than real life.
Mother Nature ROCKS!
Seriously, it's a clip from a Nature/NOVA/Eyewitness documentary or something. I remember watching it on PBS because I was trying to figure out if that was really John Cleese narrating. I'm pretty sure it's true.
I am really, REALLY unsure if I believe any of that...
"There are literally thousands of different types of Cordyceps Fungi, and each specializes in just one species..." Is there one for humans? Man, I hate it when things grow out of my head.
