der_kluge, those puzzles are just as easy as the ArmorGames ones, but a lot less user-friendly.

I win! I finished them all the other day. You can go to the Armor website and buy the Pro version for 5 bucks and download more puzzles. Has a nice feature that highlights the row and column your mouse is in. Very helpfull for the 30x30 puzzles.

The second puzzle named Panda on Hard is actually a mouse with cheese. I kept thinking, "How is this going to possibly turn into a panda."

I eventually beat all these (didn't do the online pack).

At the later levels, it seems you have to just sort of guess a bit to get started. Some of them are very hard.

If you want a REAL challenge, try these:
    http://thetimmys.com/flash/picross/

There's no feedback - if you place a wrong tile, it won't tell you. It's way harder. Some of those are downright brutal. I beat all of them, too. you definitely have to use different kinds of tactics, though.

I thought they were all relatively easy but I seem to have hit a wall with Cowboy on Expert Pack and the next couple after that. Have not had to guess on any puzzles up to this point. All have been solved logically.

When I started playing this game it seemed so hard! But now I understand it a lot more. There are some techniques that make the solving easier. I'm posting them in my blog, so you may want to take a look at it (http://hptake.awardspace.com). Hope it helps. Myself I use them a lot.

Yeah it sounds stupid but I missed that part. All the instructions say is:
"The numbers tell you how many tiles are colored on that row, and how long the strings of colored tiles are."
It never says they were in order, which took me many puzzles to figure that out.

I believe there is a picross game for the DS morph. I might pick it up soon.

dash while the most of it can be done on logic there comes a time when u gotta use syemtry and what the finished product is gonna look like to guess a squre or two but even on fungus i only had to guess twice i skipped to it and it took me a few trys because i cant start these with logic but im sure it can be done i just guess and fail the first 3 er so times till i get a foundation then go from there.

great game, wish i had it on a handheld. i cant spell dont bother pointing it out to me i know

This may sound stupid but it might help anyone still playing. I just noticed the order of each sequence outside of the board is the same as inside. So if on the left was a 5-3-2 then going from left to right, 5 would come first, then 3, then 2.

It's no wonder I've been having a terrible time and guessing so much.

I finished most of the expert pack. there only a handful that you can get from pure logic like leaf, bird of prey, and about 5 other experts. The rest at some point you have to guess. Because most of the puzzles have some symmetry and you know what the finished puzzle is supposed to represent, you can guess correctly. Other times you have to lose a life or 2 or 3, but never 5. I wish you could do these puzzles on pure logic.

I can't find a way to logically find every square, at some point there always seems to be some guess work.

dac, your best bet is to just use a process of elimination method. Practice and find your own methods that work.
